Anne Riggs came to Portland eight years ago after living in Germany and the Netherlands for more than twenty-five years. Anne learned to sew as a child and as a young mother sewed for her daughters. Now retired after a teaching career, she has rediscovered her love for sewing and combined it with her interest in sustainability to create many reusable products for home and family. In trying to help families save money, reduce trash and protect the environment, she makes items such as cloth baby wipes, reusable “paper” towels, snack and sandwich bags, cloth napkins and much more.
