I am mesmerized by landscape. I love the raw simplicity of light, pattern, shape, and design. Seeing balance, rhythm, and pattern has always drawn me to a place just to create. From the beginning, the process has always lead me down a path of imagery and solace. Whether it be printmaking, bookmaking, sculpture, collaborative mixed media project, sewing or now simply drawing, everything seems very connected to the story, the feeling I want to tell. When I start a drawing, there is a loose plan which grows into an enormous idea that at present, The idea doesn’t seem to have an end and leads me to each new drawing and another attempt. A feeling, a thought, an idea, with the simplest tools and process, to tell my story. Like a story, a shadow can create, moving across a floor or a mountain. Or the story of migration.
